Glen Durrant extended his winning run on the Lakeside stage to 13 games as he defeated Northern Ireland’s Kyle McKinstry 5-2 in the quarter-finals of the BDO World Professional Darts Championship. Durrant lifted his average to the 98 mark, nearing that ton plus that he has been promising all tournament.

Checkouts of 107 and 111 got the ball rolling in the opening set of the match before McKinstry fought back with some tremendous clutch double shooting. ‘The Village Man’ would hold a slight advantage for a short amount of time but Durrant would keep up the pressure on the England Open Champion.

Darts would come and go for McKinstry, the Middlesbrough man seemingly pouncing on every opportunity he was handed. A tremendous 111 average in the fourth set of the match all but ended McKinstry’s chances of a dream semi-final appearance as Durrant marched towards the final four.

The finishing touches would be applied on the outer to a thoroughly professional performance from the two-time champion, who will return to the stage for his semi-final on Saturday afternoon.
