The first Aussie up is Simon Whitlock (12) v Steve Beaton (26)
Head to head Whitlock lead 12 to 4 in there 16 appearances, but I don’t think this will be a reflection of their first-round match. Beaton has shown some great form lately and it all depends on witch Simon we get to see., the all-conquering or the everyday player.
I think it will be Simon to come through and take the first round match as of the 25/10/18 on Unibet Australia Whitlock is $1.65 favourite to take out the match and I think they a fair odds. This one should go the Aussies way and comfortable.
The Second Aussie up is Gerwyn Price (13) v Kyle Anderson (21)
This one will be tough for Kyle Anderson as Price has been getting through his early matches quite easily over the last couple of tournaments. The pair have played three times with Anderson leading 2-1 but the last meeting was back in 2017 PDPA Players Championship Ireland, since then Price has taken his game to a new level and these are shown in the odds with price a short favourite to take out this match. If there was going to a bit of an upset in the first round I think this might be the one for me it is Anderson in a close match.
So it should be a great first round for the Aussies, overall I am still going for a Mensur Suljovic v Michael van Gerwen and let’s see if MVG gets five in a row.
